The Allied Masonic Degrees Collarette (25mm) is a refined and distinguished regalia item used within the Order for the wearing of jewels associated with officer rank, honors, or commemorative distinctions. This narrower format reflects a subtle, elegant alternative to the full collar, ideal for formal Allied Masonic ceremonies.
Design & Construction
Form & Shape: The collarette is designed in the traditional loop style, forming a complete circle or gentle U-shape around the neck, with its lower center designed for suspension of a jewel of office or merit.
Width: At 25mm (approximately 1 inch) wide, this is a slim, understated piece of regalia that balances formality with comfort, allowing the jewel it supports to stand out as the focal point.
Material: Made from premium-quality moiré silk ribbon, renowned for its elegant, lustrous “watered” texture. This ensures both durability and a distinguished aesthetic consistent with the regalia traditions of the Allied Masonic Degrees.
Color Scheme:
Principal Color: The primary color of the AMD collarette is rich emerald green, a hue emblematic of the Order, symbolizing enlightenment, knowledge, wisdom, and growth.
Edge Finishing: While the 25mm AMD collarette is typically plain-edged for a clean and elegant look, some variations may include a fine gold edging for senior offices or Grand Council use. The plain green ribbon maintains an emphasis on the jewel suspended from it rather than on the collarette itself.
Attachment & Jewel Suspension:
Suspension Point: The collarette features a reinforced central loop or hook at the base, ensuring secure attachment and correct presentation of the jewel of office or award.
Fastening Mechanism: At the rear, it is equipped with an adjustable clasp or hook-and-eye closure for easy fitting and secure wear during ceremonial proceedings.
Lining:
The reverse side is often lined with a fine satin fabric, typically in a complementary dark shade such as black or deep green, ensuring comfort, structure, and durability.
Symbolism:
The emerald green color directly associates the collarette with the Allied Masonic Degrees tradition and reflects the values of learning, unity, and enlightenment that underpin AMD rituals.
The narrower width (25mm) emphasizes simplicity, modesty, and dignity, appropriate to the quiet service of an AMD officer or recipient.
