The Royal Arch Principals Apron and Sash are distinctive pieces of regalia worn by the three principal officers (the First Principal, Second Principal, and Third Principal) in a Royal Arch Chapter. Each of these items has specific design elements and symbolism associated with their roles.

Royal Arch Principals' Apron:

Shape and Size: The apron is typically rectangular with a rounded flap or bib at the top.

Base Color: The main body of the apron is white, often made from lambskin, symbolizing purity and innocence.

Borders: The apron is edged with a red (crimson) and blue (sky blue) triple border or a combination of the two colors. The colors represent the blend of Royal Arch traditions and the different offices held by the principals.

Emblem: The central emblem on the flap usually features the Triple Tau symbol, which is a significant emblem in Royal Arch Masonry. The Triple Tau is often surrounded by a circle and can be embroidered or made from metal.

Additional Embellishments: Depending on the jurisdiction or the specific chapter, additional symbols, such as rosettes or gold braid, may be present, denoting the rank or specific office of the wearer.

Royal Arch Principals' Sash:

Color: The sash is typically red (crimson) or a combination of red and blue, reflecting the colors used in Royal Arch Masonry.

Design: The sash is worn over the left shoulder, extending diagonally across the body to the right hip. It often features emblems, such as the Triple Tau or other Royal Arch symbols, embroidered along its length.

Material: The sash is usually made from silk or a similar high-quality material, with intricate embroidery or symbols relevant to the Royal Arch.

Length and Fit: The sash is long enough to drape comfortably over the wearer's body, and it may be adjusted to fit snugly without restricting movement.

Specific Symbolism: In some jurisdictions, the sash may include additional symbols that are specific to the rank of the principal, such as a crown for the First Principal, a mitre for the Second Principal, and a staff or sceptre for the Third Principal.

These items are not only ceremonial but also rich in symbolic meaning, representing the authority, wisdom, and responsibilities of the Royal Arch Principals within their chapter.
