The SOT Professed Knight Mantle of the Inner Order – Strict Templar Observance (STO) is a distinguished ceremonial garment, crafted to reflect the chivalric discipline, spiritual devotion, and historic lineage of the Order. Designed in keeping with the austere yet noble character of the Strict Observance tradition, this mantle unites symbolism, craftsmanship, and dignified presence.

Meticulously hand-embroidered, each piece is produced with exceptional attention to detail. The embroidery is executed by skilled artisans to ensure clarity, durability, and a refined finish worthy of formal investitures and solemn Templar assemblies.

At its centre is a striking 25 x 25 cm red Templar Cross, boldly displayed as the emblem of sacrifice, courage, and fidelity to the Christian knightly ideal. The vivid red cross stands in symbolic contrast against the mantle’s field, representing both martyrdom and unwavering commitment. A small crest positioned at the centre of the cross further enhances its heraldic character, reinforcing identity and rank within the Order.

The mantle fastens securely with a traditional drawstring closure, allowing for a comfortable and adjustable fit while preserving its classical design. The simplicity of the fastening honours the historical monastic-knightly heritage from which the Strict Observance tradition draws inspiration.

The interior features a white cotton lining, seamless and carefully finished for superior comfort. The cotton lining ensures breathability and structure while maintaining a smooth drape. Cut on the bias, the mantle naturally follows the contours of the body, providing improved comfort, balance, and “plumbness” when worn. This tailored cut enhances both movement and ceremonial posture, ensuring the garment sits correctly during formal proceedings.

Available in several standard sizes or made-to-measure, this mantle can be tailored to ensure an impeccable fit, reflecting the dignity and bearing expected of a Professed Knight of the Strict Templar Observance.

Please use this sizing guide before placing your order. Regalia, jackets, tunics, mantles, gloves, caps, and leather garments may vary slightly depending on the style, cut, and method of production. For the most accurate fit, we recommend measuring a well-fitting garment you already own and comparing it to the measurements below.

Important: For custom-made or fitted regalia, please provide actual body measurements in centimetres. For jackets, tunics, mantles, and leather garments, please also provide garment measurements where possible.

How to Measure

Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest.
Shoulder to Shoulder: Measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
Sleeve Length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist.
Jacket/Tunic Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder down to the desired length.
Waist: Measure around the natural waistline.
Hip: Measure around the fullest part of the hips.
Inseam: Measure from the crotch to the bottom of the ankle.
